Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Slide (the "App"), operated by Logic & Lens LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the App you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility — 18+ only
Slide is strictly for adults 18 years of age or older. By creating an account or using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18. If we determine that you are under 18, we will terminate your account and delete your data. You may not allow anyone under 18 to use your account, attend an event you host, or appear in content you post.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information, including a real display name, date of birth, and, where required, a verification selfie.
3. Events and attendance
Slide enables users to host and attend in-person events. Slide does not organize, supervise, vet, screen, endorse, or take part in any event. Events are planned and run entirely by users (hosts), and attendance is entirely a personal decision by each user (attendee). You are solely responsible for your own safety, conduct, decisions, and well-being before, during, and after every event.
3a. Public locations only
All Slide events must take place in public, lawfully accessible locations — parks, sidewalks, public-facing restaurants, cafes, bars, museums, bookstores, community spaces, gyms open to members of the public, and similar venues. Slide events may not be held in private residences, private parties, hotel rooms, short-term rentals, or any other non-public space. Hosts are responsible for confirming that their venue is open to the public and lawful for the activity in question. Slide may remove any event that appears to violate this requirement.
3b. Host responsibilities
- Hosts choose the venue, time, capacity, and activity, and are solely responsible for the legality, safety, and conduct of the event.
- Hosts must comply with all applicable laws, permits, age restrictions (including alcohol laws), venue rules, and local regulations.
- Hosts may not host events that involve illegal activity, drug use, regulated firearms activity, gambling, sexual conduct, or any other activity prohibited by law.
- Hosts may not collect payment for events through Slide or use Slide to circumvent venue, employer, or licensing rules.
3c. Attendee responsibilities
- Attending a Slide event is at your own risk. You decide whether to attend, with whom, and for how long.
- You must check in on time and may not arrive after an event has started unless the host allows it.
- You must follow all venue rules, host instructions, and applicable laws while attending.
- Repeated no-shows or cancellations may lead to temporary suspension under our community standards.
4. Prohibited conduct
- No harassment, threats, or unwanted contact with other users.
- No impersonation or use of someone else's identity.
- No illegal activity, including the sale or use of controlled substances at events.
- No commercial solicitation or spam.
- No attempts to circumvent safety features (e.g. verification, reporting).
- You must also follow the Community Guidelines.
5. Verification and reports
Some events may require a verification selfie to join. We may retain verification selfies for a limited period to investigate reports. If another user reports you, we may review the report and, where warranted, warn, suspend, or ban your account.
6. Content you share
You retain ownership of content you post (photos, videos, comments). By posting, you grant Slide a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the App for its intended purpose.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for conduct we reasonably believe puts other users at risk. You may delete your account at any time from the app; deletion is final after a 30-day grace period.
8. Assumption of risk
You acknowledge and agree that meeting and gathering with other people in person carries inherent risks, including but not limited to: physical injury, illness (including infectious disease), property damage, theft, emotional distress, harassment, assault, unwanted contact, intoxication, exposure to controlled substances, vehicle accidents, allergic reactions, food-borne illness, and conduct of other attendees or third parties. You assume all such risks voluntarily and accept full responsibility for your own decisions, safety, and well-being. Hosts and attendees alike assume all risk arising from any event organized or attended through Slide.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slide disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that user-generated content or other users are safe, trustworthy, or accurate. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, the accuracy of event listings, the identity or character of any user, or the safety of any location, person, or activity.
10. Limitation of liability — Slide is not liable
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Logic & Lens LLC, Slide, and our owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for any loss, damage, claim, or harm of any kind — including without limitation bodily injury, illness, death, property damage, theft, emotional distress, lost profits, lost data, lost opportunity, attorneys' fees, or any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — arising out of or related to:
- Your use of or inability to use the App;
- Any event organized, posted, attended, or cancelled through Slide;
- The conduct, acts, or omissions of any host, attendee, venue, third party, or other user, on or off the App;
- Any party, gathering, meetup, or activity facilitated by Slide, whether planned or spontaneous;
- Any injury, illness, accident, exposure, or harm sustained before, during, or after an event;
- Content posted by other users, including any video, photo, comment, or message;
- Disputes between users.
This limitation applies whether the claim is based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, statute, or any other legal theory, and whether or not Slide was advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Release and indemnification
You release Slide, Logic & Lens LLC, and our owners, employees, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, and causes of action of every kind arising out of any event organized, attended, or facilitated through the App. You agree to indemnify and hold Slide harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) brought by a third party arising from your conduct, your content, your events, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Dispute resolution
Please read this section carefully. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Slide agree to resolve disputes through binding individual arbitration, not in court, except as described below.
12a. Mandatory individual arbitration
Except for disputes that qualify for small claims court or claims that cannot be arbitrated as a matter of law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the App, your account, your use of Slide, or any event posted or attended through Slide will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
12b. Class action waiver
You and Slide agree that each may bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, representative, or private attorney general action. Class arbitrations are not permitted.
12c. Small claims and government agencies
Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from reporting concerns to law enforcement, a regulator, or another government agency, or from participating in an agency investigation.
12d. Liability cap
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slide's total liability to you for any claim is limited to $100 or the amount you paid Slide in the 12 months before the claim arose, whichever is greater. This cap does not apply where prohibited by law.
12e. Governing law and forum
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Logic & Lens LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any court action permitted under these Terms must be filed in the state or federal courts located in that state, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
12f. Arbitration opt-out
You may opt out of arbitration by emailing support@slidesocial.net within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Your email must include the email address or phone number on your Slide account and a clear statement that you want to opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
